What to Expect
DiolazeXL uses targeted light energy to safely and effectively reduce unwanted hair. Laser pulses are absorbed by the pigment in the hair, traveling down the shaft to heat and disable the follicle. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are needed to target all follicles during their active growth phase. Built-in cooling technology enhances comfort throughout treatment.
Lumecca IPL works by delivering targeted light energy into the skin to break down pigmentation and visible blood vessels associated with redness and sun damage. Over the next 1 to 2 weeks, the body naturally clears the destroyed blood vessels and pigmented spots, resulting in a brighter, clearer, and more even complexion.

Appointments range from 30–90 minutes depending on the treatment area and whether you are booking a single area or a bundled service.
Minimal. Mild redness or sensitivity may occur for 1 to 2 days after treatment. Most people return to normal activities the same day, though excess heat (saunas, hot tubs, hot yoga) should be avoided for 24 hours. SPF is recommended to protect the skin after treatment.
Treatment is tailored to your skin type, hair type, and the area being treated. Your provider will help select the most appropriate plan based on your goals.
A consultation is recommended before treatment to review your history, skin and hair type, recent sun exposure, medications, and any factors that may affect safety or results. Please book a discovery consult prior to treatment if you are unsure.
Laser hair removal works best as a series, as hair grows in cycles and is only targeted by the laser in its initial phase. Most patients need 6 to 10 sessions spaced several weeks apart for best results.
Arrive with the area shaved for both DiolazeXL and IPL. Avoid waxing or plucking before or between laser sessions (shaving is fine), limit sun exposure, and follow provided aftercare guidance to support the best results.
FAQ
Most patients need a series of treatments for best results. A typical plan for DiolazeXL is 6 to 10 sessions spaced several weeks apart, depending on the area treated, hair type, and hair growth cycle. For Lumecca IPL, 3 to 4 sessions booked 3 to 4 weeks apart is recommended.
Hair gradually becomes thinner and grows back more slowly after each session. Noticeable reduction usually occurs after a few treatments, with continued improvement over the full series. With IPL, brown spots and redness reduce with each treatment, usually noticeable 1 week post treatment.
Downtime is minimal. You can expect mild redness and sensitivity for 1 to 2 days after treatment, but most people return to normal activities the same day. Makeup can be applied after IPL treatments if desired.
Most patients describe the feeling as a quick snap or warmth on the skin. DiolazeXL and Lumecca IPL are designed with built-in cooling to help keep treatment as comfortable as possible.
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction. Some hair may grow back over time, but it is usually finer and lighter. Blood vessels targeted by IPL may regrow, and sun spots may return with further sun exposure. Maintenance treatments, such as one treatment yearly, may be recommended for both services.
DiolazeXL can be used on most areas of the body, including the face, underarms, bikini area, legs, back, chest, and arms. Lumecca IPL can be used for the face, chest, shoulders, hands, or spot treatments. Your provider will help choose the best treatment plan based on your goals.
Laser hair removal may not be recommended for people with active skin infections or open wounds, certain skin conditions in the treatment area, recent sunburn or tanning within 3 weeks, or use of medications that increase light sensitivity. Your provider will review your history before treatment.
No. Laser hair removal and IPL are considered elective cosmetic treatments and are not covered by MSP or insurance plans.
